Author Justina Ireland has more to say about Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh.

While we still have questions about Vernestra (Rebecca Henderson) and her meeting with Yoda in the last scene of The Acolyte’s finale, Ireland — one of the five original architects behind the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative — will write a new chapter to Rwoh’s story with Star Wars: The Acolyte: Wayseeker, an adult novel arriving next year from Random House Worlds.

The book was one of several new stories and covers revealed during “Star Wars: Stories from A Galaxy Far, Far Away” today, the official Lucasfilm panel at San Diego Comic-Con hosted by Patton Oswalt. In addition to Ireland, Oswalt was joined on stage by authors Cavan Scott and Tessa Gratton as well as the voice cast behind the upcoming open-world scoundrel adventure Star Wars Outlaws: Humberly Gonzalez (Kay Vess), Jay Rincon (ND-5), and legendary Star Wars voice actor Dee Bradley Baker (Nix, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars: The Bad Batch), as well as Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty.

Take a closer look at all nine announcements and cover reveals from the in-depth conversation!

1. This is the way…seeker. Justina Ireland’s new novel will explore Vernestra Rwoh’s life about 20 years prior to the events of The Acolyte, a giant leap from when we last saw the teenaged prodigy in Phase III of The High Republic storytelling.

2. Yord and Jecki live! We have good news for members of the Yord Horde and Jecki Jam: Tessa Gratton will resurrect these fan-favorite characters for a new YA novel set in the years leading up to The Acolyte. The book arrives in July 2025. No word yet on a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive edition with bonus steamer.

3. Marvel’s The High Republic comics will continue. Cavan Scott revealed the continuation of his flagship comic series set in the golden age of the Jedi Order, returning with new issues in February 2025. In a surprise twist, The Acolyte’s Kelnacca joins Keeve Trennis and other familiar faces to form a dream team.
